<p>Join part of the team that achieved national recognition for #1 growth in early literacy in Washington State!</p> <p>Posting Information: Open until filled.</p> <p>Schedule: 1.0 FTE - 204 days per contract year (July 1 - June 30)</p> <p>Start Date: As soon as possible</p> <p>Location: Mountain View Elementary School</p> <p>Salary: $146,610 - $158,696 annually, depending on experience.</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Benefits: 12 sick leave days; 6 personal leave days; 5 bereavement leave days per occurrence; $1,500 annual professional development allotment, AWSP membership, health insurance including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance for employee and eligible dependents administered by the School Employees Benefits Board; retirement administered by the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems; other fringe benefits as allowed by School Board Policy and Procedures and the Shelton Certificated Administrators Agreement.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Mountain View Elementary Principal supports the Shelton School District Strategic Plan and the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan. This position works collaboratively with staff and other administrators to develop and maintain a safe and welcoming environment where students excel both academically and personally.</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Washington State certificate with a principal endorsement. </li><li>Successful administrative experience preferred (elementary school setting preferred). </li><li>At least 5 years of elementary teaching experience. </li><li>Successful experience in leaderships roles. </li><li>Demonstrated school district and community involvement. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership skills of planning to include participatory and collaborative planning and decision-making, organizing, delegating, and listening </li><li>Demonstrated skills in program development and evaluation, staff supervision and evaluation, fiscal management, staff development, human relations, assessment, and technology utilization. </li><li>Training and/or experience in leadership, restructuring, assessment, and evaluation processes. </li><li>Demonstrates high energy, professional involvement, and facilitator abilities. </li><li>An understanding of effective leadership and an ability to use leadership skills that allow for positive, effective change in Shelton School District. </li><li>Ability to develop and sustain focus on a shared mission and clear vision for improvement for the Shelton School District and Mountain View Elementary. </li><li>Ability to plan, organize, and implement daily and long-term operations and goals. </li><li>Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing Washington State public schools. </li><li>Ability to use data to drive planning and decision making. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to connect with staff, students, families, and community members in a mutually respectful, supportive, and accessible manner. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff as a team to accomplish goals as well as work independently. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with staff, students, families, and the community. </li><li>Willingness to maintain an upbeat, positive, and collaborative demeanor. </li><li>Willingness to maintain confidentiality and tact in all aspects of employment. </li><li>Willingness to incorporate lightheartedness and humor into the workplace. </li><li>Willingness to grow improvement of learning and teaching. </li><li>Articulates and supports the mission, goals, policies, procedures and administrative directives of the District. </li><li>Engages in essential learning conversations for ongoing improvement. </li><li>Sets high expectations and motivates others through a collaborative process, to achieve high levels of performance and attain continuous improvement. </li><li>Creates opportunities for shared leadership, works collaboratively with staff, students, families, and other members of the school community to help improve student learning. </li><li>In partnership with the principal develops, implements, and monitors plans for the efficient and safe operation of the school facility and grounds. </li><li>Recognizes, seeks out, analyzes, and interprets multiple data sources to inform school-level improvement efforts. </li><li>Assists staff to use data to guide, modify, and improve classroom teaching and student learning. </li><li>Monitor instructions and assessment practices. </li><li>Assists staff in developing required student growth plans and identifying valid, reliable sources of evidence of effectiveness. </li><li>Assists staff in implementing effective instruction and assessment practices. </li><li>Evaluates staff in effective instruction and assessment practices. </li><li>In partnership with the principal, assists with the selection of personnel and assign appropriate work roles to staff. </li><li>In partnership with the principal, establishes efficient schedules and other organizational routines that enhance instructional program improvement and student learning. </li><li>In partnership with the principal, assigns staff and develops a master schedule to best meet the needs of students. </li><li>Provides appropriate, timely, and meaningful verbal and written feedback to certificated and classified staff regarding performance. </li><li>Develops a plan for remediation with certificated or classified staff when needed and recommend appropriate probation and termination whenever necessary. </li><li>Provides in-service and professional growth opportunities for staff. </li><li>Works cooperatively with supervisor, or designee, to develop realistic goals for professional growth and organizational improvement. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of the best practices and innovations in educational leadership, program development, and instruction. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of and uphold all policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and contractual obligations to effectively manage the school facility and instructional programs. </li><li>In partnership with the principal, allocates and monitors resources and budgets according to District and school program needs. </li><li>Communicates frequently and effectively with all members of the school community and the District. </li><li>Maintains positive partnerships with students, staff, families, and the community. </li><li>Represents the school in maintaining positive public relations. </li><li>Develops and maintains an effective families/student volunteer program. </li><li>Identifies barriers to achievement and closes resulting gaps. </li><li>Provides evidence of student growth. </li><li>Attends trainings, meetings, community events, and school events as appropriate and/or directed. </li><li>Actively supports the District's Strategic Plan. </li><li>Other duties as assigned or appropriate. </li></ul>
