Then you will be a perfect fit!!</p> <p>MARC, Inc. is seeking a Lead Staff in our residential department to oversee a residence of individuals with developmental disabilities. This position would be responsible for the daily activities including taking care of and overseeing the home, finances, and proper nutrition. In addition, this individual will be responsible for ensuring all necessary documentation is complete, as well as scheduling staff, accompanying our people we serve to medical appointments, reporting health status changes to the nurse and communicating with day service staff. They will develop natural supports and assist individuals with personal growth and reaching their goals. The ideal candidate will have compassion, previous experience assisting adults with special needs, strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good judgment.</p> <p>Requirements: Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance, as driving is a requirement of the position. Must have a High School Diploma.</p> <p>Full-Time position available; 2nd shift</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Works in partnership and assists House Manager with the following: </li><li>Acts as Manager and has authority in absence of the Manager </li><li>Support Manager with staff development including improving competency through teaching, trainings and assigning corrective action when warranted </li><li>Ensure persons served receive best possible help and care needed to live their best life </li><li>Assist with scheduling medical and dental appointments, follow-ups and coordinate with House RN </li><li>Support Manager in coordination of all in-house training for new staff </li><li>Support Manager in team follow through after quarterly house meetings </li><li>Ensure all incident reports are completed and filed within 24 hours as required by DDS </li><li>Communicate doctors orders, update calendars, staff logs and notify all necessary parties of any medication changes </li><li>Support Manager in overseeing and compliance of house financials </li><li>Help to ensure proper nutrition and dietary needs are met </li><li>Support Manager and team in ensuring the home is clean and safe </li><li>In absence of Manager, writes house staff schedule, clear shifts on Paycom and ensures coverage of all shifts necessary for house operations </li><li>Support Manager in ensuring daily documentation is completed and approved through Medisked </li><li>Support Manager in overseeing daily activities including taking care of and overseeing the home </li><li>In absence of Manager, present reports documenting progress on residents IP goals </li><li>Support Manager in completing monthly residence fire drills and home inspections </li><li>Transport persons served to and from activities and medical appointments </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li><li>Minimum four years of experience in human services </li><li>Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, PMT and DDS Medication Administration Certification within six months of hire and maintain throughout duration of employment at MARC </li><li>Ability to act quickly and remain calm in a crisis </li><li>Knowledge of agency policies and state and federal laws </li><li>Prior use of management information systems </li><li>Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle in order to transport employees and/or self with valid personal auto liability insurance </li><li>Excellent communication skills both oral and written </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Must be able to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL EFFORTS:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving. </li><li>Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting of nonambulatory people </li></ul> <p>WORK REMOTELY:</p> <ul> <li>No </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>MARC, Inc. of Manchester is a not-for-profit agency which supports people with disabilities in Manchester, Connecticut and surrounding towns since 1952.
