<p>Sussex County Community College is seeking a part time Adult Transitions Center Coach. The part time Adult Transitions Center Coach will report to the ATC Coordinator.</p> <p>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Supports students enrolled in the Sussex County Community College Adult Transition Program, focusing on post-secondary and vocational support. </li><li>Assist clients to discover and overcome their barriers and set goals </li><li>Guide students in learning to complete job tasks </li><li>Communicate with students to understand their goals and ambitions </li><li>Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively </li><li>Assist with developing opportunities for exploration into both vocational and post-secondary options. </li><li>Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities using person-centered approaches. </li><li>Work collectively with faculty and staff to coordinate opportunities for each student. </li><li>Provide, when needed, coverage for the instructor </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Associates / Bachelor's Degree preferred </li><li>Two or more years of experience in Supported Employment </li><li>The Boggs Center Employment Specialist Training 1-4 (if not current, must be obtained within the first 30 day) </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Driver's License </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPointt </li><li>In-depth knowledge of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Department of Developmental Disabilities fee for service. </li><li>Certified Employment Support Professional Certificate (CESP) </li><li>Strong presentation skills </li><li>Excellent time management skills </li><li>Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills </li><li>Ability to anticipate a problem and develop strategies in advance </li><li>Agility in multi-tasking </li><li>Excellent organizational skills </li><li>Excellent listening and verbal/written communication skills </li><li>A high degree of common sense and good judgment </li><li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Supports the mission of the college </li><li>Follows established policies and procedures set forth by the college </li><li>Ability to work with a broad spectrum of students found in a community college environment </li></ul> <p>Sussex County Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>Effective September 1, 2011, the NJ First Act requires that certain classifications of persons employed by a public higher education institution will have 365 days within which to establish a primary residence in NJ.
