Located just outside Boston, often referred to as the "Hub of the Universe" due to its renowned universities and cultural institutions, MVRCS offers a vibrant educational environment rooted in academic excellence.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable physics teacher to instruct junior and senior students in a college-preparatory setting, including honors and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) levels. This course combines lecture, lab, demonstrations, class discussions, and hands-on activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fundamental physics principles and the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner that inspires students.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li> <p>Deliver high-quality instruction in physics, aligned with course objectives and student needs</p> </li><li> <p>Design and implement lessons that include lab work, demonstrations, and interactive activities</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate and track student performance through assignments, labs, assessments, and participation</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and other required documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Provide individualized support and extra help to students outside of class time</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with colleagues, participate in department and faculty meetings, and contribute to school-wide initiatives</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and the broader school community</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure proper use and care of classroom materials, lab equipment, and facilities</p> </li><li> <p>Support school operations through occasional duties such as lunch coverage, study hall supervision, and exam proctoring</p> </li><li> <p>Potentially teach MCAS math preparation classes for sophomores as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in physical science (preferably in physics)</p> </li><li> <p>Successful completion of the Physics MTEL (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)</p> </li></ul>
