The intern position provides the opportunity to learn the event planning process, engage with a variety of clients, and learn how to address guest issues. The internship is focused around individual development, and will give them hands on experience in facilitating events.</p> <p>This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00</p> <p>This position will remain open until September 19, 2025.</p> <p>About the Venue</p> <p>Addition Financial Arena is a multi-purpose entertainment arena located at the University of Central Florida Campus. The arena features up to 10,000 seats and hosts a wide variety of events ranging from nationally renowned artists, family shows, college and professional sporting events, trade shows and conventions. The Arena is home to the University of Central Florida Knights Men's and Women's Basketball, Women's Volleyball and the Pro Volleyball Federation's Orlando Valkyries.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in training, motivating, and evaluating part time event staff </li><li>Work with Event Managers to correct department deficiencies </li><li>Learn to lead, manage, and supervise part time event staff </li><li>Learn to read and understand event diagrams and event instructions </li><li>Learn event configuration standards and set-up requirements </li><li>Learn the various departments in the building and their event day responsibilities </li><li>Gain hands on experience in the event planning process, having the opportunity to learn and impact a wide array of events </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Open to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students seeking an internship to fulfill class credits and/or paid internship </li><li>Housing/transportation are the responsibility of the student </li><li>Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week </li><li>Must be available during normal business hours, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the Addition Financial Arena event calendar </li><li>Must have experience using Microsoft Office and Excel </li><li>Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Must be customer service oriented and professional </li></ul> <p>Strengthened by our Differences.
