Through our focuses on Safety throughout our facilities, Quality of products produced for our customers, Communication at all levels, Growth of not just our locations but also of our employees in their careers, and Performance with our ability to meet deadlines and goals for ourselves and our customers, we pride ourselves on the brand we have created and continue to grow.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Quality Assurance Manager plans and directs all Quality efforts, including management of our onsite Quality Lab, to ensure customer products undergo the strictest standards of output while maintaining high safety standards within the team. This position works closely with our Brewing, Batching, and Packaging departments to confirm products meet all customer requirements as well as City's internal quality expectations. This individual will also partner with cross-site Quality leaders to share best practices and provide exceptional customer service. As City continues to evolve with technologies and processes, this individual will champion both change management and employee development within their team and across the Latrobe site to promote growth for all employees.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plans and directs all facility Food Safety, HACCP and GMP programs in compliance with established corporate standards </li><li>Works collaboratively with Corporate Food Safety Manager to ensure local Food Safety teams are supported in the achievement of mandated requirements </li><li>Assists other departments in meeting requirements of Food Safety, HACCP and GMP programs; provides technical expertise, ensures compliance and enforces accountability </li><li>Ensures department compliance with Internal, Federal, State and local guidelines and regulations including GMP, HACCP, OSHA, FDA and TTB; assists with compliance in other departments where appropriate </li><li>Continuously evaluates current procedures and implement improvements to ensure alignment with customer expectations regarding specifications </li><li>Supports Customer Service and communicates directly with customers and suppliers as appropriate regarding local quality issues </li><li>Accountable with Plant Manager to ensure that Quality & Food Safety compliance activities are executed locally to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements </li><li>Guides facility compliance during internal and external audits. Communicates audit results </li><li>Serves as local Company representative during regulatory audits </li><li>Develops and writes policies and procedures for department and facility related to Quality Assurance standards and process improvement </li><li>Work with customers and internal experts to develop product and process specifications </li><li>Effectively manages staff of exempt and non-exempt employees to ensure cost effective and efficient department operations </li><li>Accountable for department budgets and annual departmental operating plans to meet corporate and local Quality & Food Safety goals </li><li>Supports departments in conducting Root Cause Analyses and ensure preventive actions are embedded in the routines and SOP's of the facility </li><li>Prepares and monitors departmental capital projects </li><li>Provides staff and personal training and development as needed and assist in meeting the Quality Assurance related training needs of other departments </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors of Science in a related science discipline (Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Food Science etc.) or equivalent </li><li>5+ years experience in a managerial position, preferably in manufacturing </li><li>Excellent knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs; HACCP certification, preferred </li><li>Prior experience mentoring, coaching, and leading large teams </li><li>Prior experience leading teams through large organizational changes </li><li>Knowledge of Brewing process and science, preferred </li><li>Internal or Lead Audit experience with FSSC 22000 or other GFSI standard, preferred </li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to define problems and think critically </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Knowledge of government regulatory requirements in a food/beverage processing facility </li><li>Excellent customer relations skills </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects and resources effectively </li><li>Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite </li></ul> <p>City Brewery is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all applicants will be considered without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.</p>
