Position:</p> <ul> <li>Crossing Guard </li></ul> <p>Objective:</p> <ul> <li>Safely expedite the movement of children to and from school by stopping traffic. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Protect children going to and from school is the principal duty and nothing else shall be permitted to interfere with this function </li><li>Report directly to their school post for both morning and afternoon duties </li><li>Remain at the assigned post for the full assigned time each day that school is in session </li></ul> <p>Qualificaitons:</p> <ul> <li>Must Be at least 18 years old </li><li>Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform light physical activity (e.g., walking, standing, using hand signals). </li><li>Must have a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of children. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and drivers. </li><li>Reliability and punctuality are essential for this role. </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Reports to: Director of Transportation and Facilities or Designee </li><li>Rate: $20.00/hour </li></ul> <p>The New Bedford Public Schools do not discriminate on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, military status, genetics, or disability that does not prohibit performance of essential job functions in employment for potential employees.
