You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver insights, identify opportunities, and drive smarter business decisions through data, modeling, and analysis.</p> <p>Why this role matters:</p> <p>This role directly impacts Maverik's financial health and strategic direction by providing accurate forecasting, actionable insights, and data-driven recommendations that influence key business decisions.</p> <p>Location/Schedule:</p> <p>This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters with a 4-day hybrid in-office schedule.</p> <p>Position Summary & Day-to-Day Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead financial planning processes, develop advanced models, and deliver insights that guide business performance while partnering with teams across the organization to drive strategic outcomes. </li><li>Lead components of the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial planning, ensuring alignment with company strategy </li><li>Develop, enhance, and maintain sophisticated financial models for decision-making and scenario analysis </li><li>Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results, identifying key drivers and communicating insights to senior leadership </li><li>Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support strategic initiatives </li><li>Identify financial risks and opportunities, delivering recommendations to improve performance and optimize costs </li><li>Design and automate reporting tools and dashboards using advanced Excel and BI tools </li><li>Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data across systems and reporting </li><li>Manage multiple ad hoc analyses and high-impact projects with minimal oversight </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred </li><li>Advanced certifications or coursework (e.g., CFA, CPA, FP&A) are a plus </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of experience in a Financial Analyst or related role </li><li>Strong ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights </li><li>Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling </li><li>Experience with financial planning systems and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Vena, R, Python, SQL) preferred </li><li>Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements </li><li>Experience with general ledger reconciliation and accounting systems </li><li>Proven ability to work independently and drive process improvements </li></ul> <p>Team Member Leadership Skills</p> <ul> <li>Communicates clearly and adapts messaging to different audiences while actively listening </li><li>Takes initiative, manages priorities, and follows through with minimal supervision </li><li>Demonstrates self-awareness, empathy, and contributes to a positive team environment </li><li>Applies logical thinking to solve problems and knows when to escalate </li><li>Delivers high-quality work with strong attention to detail and customer focus </li></ul> <p>This is not an all-encompassing list of responsibilities or leadership skills.
