[Please indicate the exam and your list number or comparable title on your resume.] </li></ul> <p>The Chief of Staff for Capital Projects is responsible for managing all levels of personnel and departmental organizational issues. The Chief of Staff will set divisional policies under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner for Capital Projects, and through close work with the Capital Assistant Commissioners, Chiefs and Team Leaders. The Chief of Staff will also serve as a liaison between the Capital Projects division, Parks central management and borough maintenance and operations staff.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee Deputy Commissioner's administrative staff and coordinate day-to-day operations of the office, including maintaining the Deputy Commissioner's schedule, tracking correspondence and responding to press office inquiries. </li><li>Work with the Deputy Commissioner to establish strategic priorities for the division. </li><li>Work with the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners, Chiefs and Team Leaders on tracking projects, synthesizing information and preparing briefings and reports about the division's production. </li><li>Manage the Chief of Administrative Services and Capital Personnel Office; assist with personnel matters and recruitment decisions. </li><li>Serve as liaison with the Parks Commissioner's Office, other divisions of Parks and other City agencies; represent Capital Projects at internal/external meetings. </li><li>Coordinate special projects, such as audits, staff presentations and events. </li><li>Develop and maintain communication and strong working relationships with Assistant Commissioners, Chiefs and Team Leaders assisting with time sensitive requests and policy related tasks as necessary. </li></ul> <p>Work Location: Olmsted Center, Queens</p> <p>How to Apply: Go to cityjobs.nyc.gov and search for Job ID# 775480.</p> <p>All applicants must apply via cityjobs.nyc.gov. S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and four years of satisfactory, full-time community liaison, community organization or community relations experience, at least two years of which must have been in a broad administrative or policy-making capacity with responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, developing, evaluating and/or administering a large community service program or activity; or</p> </li><li> <p>A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and eight years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above, at least two years of which must have been in a broad administrative or policy-making capacity with responsibilities as described in "1" above; or</p> </li><li> <p>Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. Undergraduate education above the high school level may be substituted for the community liaison, community organization or community relations experience, but not for the two years of broad administrative or policy-making experience described in "1" above, at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university (as described above) for each year of experience, up to a maximum of 4 years. Graduate education beyond the baccalaureate degree may be substituted for the community liaison, community organization or community relations experience, but not for the two years of broad administrative or policy-making experience described in "1" above, on the basis of 30 graduate credits from an accredited college or university (as described above) for each year of experience, up to a maximum of 2 years. However, all candidates must possess a four-year high school diploma or its educational</p> </li></ol> <p>equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and two years of full-time experience in a broad administrative or policy-making capacity with responsibilities as described in "1" above.</p> <p>Preferred Skills</p> <ol> <li>Previous professional experience with municipal capital projects & the design and construction process. 2. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. 3. Demonstrated capacity for performing multiple tasks, analyzing complex processes, and using independent judgement. 4. Supervisory experience. 5. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite. 6.
