Description</p> <p>Exhibit Designer Job Description</p> <p>Wage: DOE</p> <p>Shift: Full time. Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:00pm.</p> <p>Benefits: Free Membership for you and immediate family; medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurances; paid time off & holidays; 401(k); Employee Assistance Program; Financial Assistance Program; Thanksgiving Point venue discounts; and more!</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Create opportunities for fun, immersive exhibit experiences at the Museum of Natural Curiosity, Butterfly Biosphere, the Museum of Ancient Life, and Curiosity Farms.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with and take direction from the Senior director of assigned Venues.</p> </li><li> <p>Take part in the overall success of the Exhibits Team, our venues, and Thanksgiving Point as a whole.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to the design, interpretation, development and creation of cool things, like oversized games and backdrops, for big events such as Tulip Festival, Luminaria, and Dino Days.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a custodian of exhibit content and story throughout the design process.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with exhibit production and maintenance as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Define core concepts and ideas during exhibit development.</p> </li><li> <p>Help team members with other exhibit tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Professional, courteous and understanding in nature.</p> </li><li> <p>Exemplify Thanksgiving Point's Mission, Values and Policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Know, understand, and have experience with human-centered design or similar methods of developing immersive content for public engagement in a museum or informal learning environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Have a solid understanding of best practices in exhibit interpretation, design process, development, and safety guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Organized, reliable, punctual, flexible, and great communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Computer skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical abilities will need to include: standing, bending, lifting, twisting, manipulating small objects.</p> </li><li> <p>Pass a background check</p> </li><li> <p>Be at least 16 years old.</p> </li></ul> <p>EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
