<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The SPD Training staff provides extensive training for agency and non-agency staff. This position is responsible for directing all aspects of agency-provided training. Primary responsibilities include setting, communicating, and implementing the vision for agency-provided training consistent with the agency's mission and values, managing the training budget, ensuring compliance with State of Wisconsin policies and procedures as it relates to training, and supervision of Training staff.</p> <p>This position assesses agency-wide training needs and develops, implements, and evaluates training for all agency staff in all divisions as well as private attorneys who participate in agency training.</p> <p>This position will be required to travel statewide up to 50% of the time for training purposes. Details regarding travel will be discussed during the interview stage. This position can be headquartered in any of our offices statewide, but will be expected to travel to the Administration Office in Madison, WI at least once a week.</p> <p>To view a copy of the position description, please click here.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in the unclassified pay schedule/range 71-00 with the starting salary between $37.83 - $72.50 per hour ($78,686 to $150,800 per year) with an additional $2.75 per hour supervisory add-on. A one-year probationary period will be required.</p> <p>Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Final selected candidates may be eligible for moving expense reimbursement to relocate to the place of employment.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Background Check: We consider all qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. A criminal background check will be done prior to an offer of employment.</p> <p>Eligibility to work in the US: The SPD does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.</p> <p>State Bar Admission: Successful candidates must be admitted to practice law by the Wisconsin Supreme Court prior to their start date. See the Wisconsin State Bar for admission requirements.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>LETTER OF QUALIFICATIONS & RESUME: You must submit both documents in order to be considered. It is important that you clearly explain and elaborate on your experience and/or training in your letter of qualifications and/or resume.</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants must have experience with ALL of the following:</p> <p>1) Varied training delivery strategies (e.g., instructor-led, computer based, webinars, and/or the use of learning management systems)</p> <p>2) Modern and varied needs assessment and training design methodologies for workforce training and development in complex organizations</p> <p>3) Training performed within a legal setting/organization</p> <p>4) Ability to obtain/maintain a license to practice law in the State of Wisconsin upon appointment to the position</p> <p>In addition, well-qualified applicants will have experience and/or training with two or more of the following:</p> <p>1) Program management, including responsibility for budgeting, determining priorities, evaluating results, developing procedures, and representing the agency</p> <p>2) Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners/interest-holders (e.g., staff, agency leadership, other state training professionals, national legal training organizations, etc.)</p> <p>3) Serving in a formal supervisory capacity (e.g., hiring, performance evaluations, leadership, training, etc.)</p> <p>4) Training within the public sector (e.g., municipal, county, state, federal, or higher education)</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
