<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Greenwich Public Schools seeks a full-time preschool teacher for New Lebanon Elementary School.</p> <p>The purpose of this position is to provide academic, social, and emotional instruction aimed toward the development of the whole child.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Creates and implements Tier I, II, and III interventions for general and special education students </li><li>Plans and participates in in planning placement team (PPT) meetings to develop and implement IEPs </li><li>Manages professional assistants, including schedule creation and modeling instruction </li><li>Collaborates with various grade level, professional learning, and data teams </li><li>Manages behaviors using the Positive Behavior Intervention Support model (PBIS) </li><li>Creates materials and differentiated lessons for a variety of learners through content, process, and product </li><li>Communicates effectively and regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, conferences, and other two-way forms of communication </li><li>Follows legal procedures regarding bullying and mandated reporting </li><li>Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and federal and state requirements </li><li>Plans and facilitates personalized learning opportunities that provide students with choice in pace, content, and process based on individual strengths, needs, goals, and cultural backgrounds </li><li>Plans daily lessons and assessments that are aligned with unit goals, objectives, and standards pertaining to the CT Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) </li><li>Oversees and plans for direct teaching </li><li>Completes educational evaluations, including using the CT Documentation & Observation for Teaching System (DOTS) </li><li>Analyzes data from early childhood assessments </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Profile</p> <ul> <li>CT State Certification, or certifiability, in Integrated Early Childhood/Special Education, Birth-K (#112), or Integrated Early Childhood/Elementary Education N-3 and Special Education N-K (#113), or other certification permitting pre-school special education teaching, required </li><li>3 or more years of teaching experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
