<p>The Raleigh Parks - Program Technician supports Raleigh Parks' Marketing Communications team by creating social media content, assisting with website updates, conducting research, and helping execute special events. This part-time role also reviews visual communications for brand.</p> <p> </p> <p>About You:</p> <p>The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and can confidently juggle multiple projects at once. They bring a solid foundation in marketing or communications, experience in content creation for the web and social media. We are seeking a person with excellent interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset that supports the Raleigh Parks Marketing Communications team's mission to deliver clear, engaging messaging.</p> <p> </p> <p>About Us:</p> <p>Raleigh Parks' Marketing Communications team is a creative, collaborative group dedicated to sharing the stories of our parks, programs, and community initiatives in engaging and meaningful ways. Working with us offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful public-facing projects, collaborate with experienced communicators, and be part of a team that values innovation, teamwork, and the positive role parks play in the Raleigh community.</p> <p>The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Drafts content for Parks and Recreation's website and social media pages </li><li>Utilize equipment to take pictures of parks, programs, and community initiatives happening around the city </li><li>Assists with website updates, research, special event support, and reviewing visual communication to ensure adherence to branding standards </li><li>A city driving permit will be required in order to operate a city vehicle for driving to locations to capture pictures and videos of events </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>Less than a High School diploma; less than 1 year customer service, office support recreation program implementation or related experience</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted</p> <p>Licensing and Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>1 year of working experience with content creation and Social Media Management </li><li>2 years of experience specific to marketing or communications </li><li>Experience managing website updates, ensuring accurate information, clear navigation, and consistent branding across digital platforms </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of social media best practices, digital communication trends, and brand-aligned content creation </li><li>Ability to manage website updates using content management systems while maintaining accuracy, accessibility, and visual consistency </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact professionally with the public </li><li>Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Attention to detail with the ability to multitask </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate both verbally and written </li></ul> <p>ADA and Other Requirements:</p> <p>Work Environment and Physical Effort:</p> <p>Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of</p> <p>force constantly to move objects.</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>Work is typically performed in an office or similar indoor setting.
