<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Farmington Public School District is seeking an outstanding educator for the position of Math Interventionist. Farmington is a suburban Hartford community with a strong record of educational excellence.</p> <p>Irving A. Robbins Middle School is seeking a Math Interventionist Teaching Position (1.0 FTE) beginning August 2026.</p> <p>Must hold or be eligible for a CT State Teaching Certification in Math (029 preferred)</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>Interventionists have current and extensive training in diagnosing and addressing learning needs. In close collaboration with instructional specialists, the Interventionist accelerates learning for students not yet meeting standards using research-based, highly effective and responsive instruction. The Interventionist also communicates regularly with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure that emerging skills and strategies are evident in grade level content, promoting accelerated progress. Using assessment and observation data, the Interventionist monitors and evaluates student progress, responding to the individual academic needs of diverse learners to ensure high levels of achievement. Prioritizing an asset-minded approach, the Interventionist develops trusting relationships with students as the basis for high expectations.</p> <ul> <li>Must hold or be eligible for CT State Teaching Certification in Math Preferred or Middle School Education (029, 003) </li><li>Specialized training in content area or program being taught (Mathematics) </li><li>Consideration will be given to the following - </li><li>Relevant and recent experience </li><li>References that indicate excellent instructional skill, initiative, and a learner mindset </li><li>Philosophy that aligns with the district's core beliefs </li><li>Various life experiences that enhance contributions to the overall district and/or school community </li></ul> <p>Salary: $56,018 - $114,029 depending upon education and experience</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Complete online application at www.fpsct.org and submit detailed cover letter, resume, 3 letters of reference, copies of all college transcripts and State of CT Teacher certification.</p> <p>Selection Procedure: Selected candidates will be contacted by phone or email for interviews with a district administrator.</p> <p>The Board of Education will not make employment decisions (including decisions related to hiring, assignment, compensation, promotion, demotion, disciplinary action and termination) on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, alienage, ancestry, disability (including pregnancy), genetic information, veteran status or gender identity or expression, except in the case of a bona fide occupational qualification.
