We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer (V/VI) - Water/Wastewater to help serve our connection of clients and community. If you're hungry for knowledge, ready to make a difference and dedicated to providing personalized attention to our clients, we want you on our team.</p> <p>The projected range of compensation in Illinois for this job is $100,000+.</p> <p>Your Primary Responsibilities will include</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for complex water and wastewater projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure. </li><li>Review, approve, and guide engineering calculations, design drawings, specifications, and technical reports. </li><li>Lead hydraulic modeling, system optimization, and design review to ensure efficient and code-compliant water and wastewater systems. </li><li>Oversee field investigations, site assessments, and construction observation; provide expert guidance to project teams. </li><li>Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and proposals; ensure successful delivery of projects. </li><li>Coordinate and mentor multidisciplinary teams; establish design standards and best practices for the organization. </li><li>Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. </li><li>Drive innovation, process improvements, and technical problem-solving on large or high-profile projects. </li><li>Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; lead technical reviews and ensure adherence to quality control standards. </li></ul> <p>What you'll need</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field; advanced degree preferred. </li><li>PE registration required; extensive experience leading water/wastewater projects. </li><li>8-15+ years of experience in design, permitting, and construction support of water/wastewater systems. </li><li>Expert proficiency with hydraulic modeling tools (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, SWMM, etc.). </li><li>Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D; BIM/Revit experience preferred. </li><li>Deep expertise with pump systems, process equipment, site layout, and utility design. </li><li>Exceptional analytical, leadership, project management, and client communication skills. </li><li>Proven ability to lead large project teams, mentor staff, and manage complex, high-profile projects successfully. </li></ul> <p>Gonzalez Offers Competitive Benefits including:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary </li><li>Major medical, dental and vision insurance </li><li>Flexible Spending Account </li><li>Health Savings Account </li><li>401K </li><li>Bonus program </li><li>Paid holidays and generous paid time off </li><li>Professional development </li><li>A team of creative and talented individuals to work alongside </li></ul> <p>Gonzalez is a rapidly growing, dynamic, professional services firm specializing in civil engineering, construction management, and construction inspection.
