<p>This is a part-time Certified position for the 2025-2026 school year. 5.75 Hrs. per day. No Benefits. You must have a valid teaching license.</p> <p>Reports to: Building Principal</p> <p>Description: Shall work with the Assistant Building Principal to provide media services to staff and students.</p> <p>NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Promote safety of students </li><li>Maintain accurate records as required, IE circulation records </li><li>Take necessary precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities </li><li>Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student grades </li><li>Attend meetings and in-services per contract </li><li>Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents and staff </li><li>Refer students with suspected disabilities according to building/district protocol </li><li>Assist students in the use of the electronic resources </li><li>Operate media center equipment </li><li>Assist in overseeing the school library </li><li>Maintain procedure for the checkout, return, and reshelving of all library materials </li><li>Assist students and teachers in the proper selection and utilization of library materials </li><li>Make simple and minor book repairs </li><li>Teach a library curriculum according to grade level </li></ul> <p>Other Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise volunteers as applicable </li><li>Coordinate book fairs </li><li>Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner </li><li>Interact with other departments and school personnel when necessary </li><li>Refer attendance, health, academic and psychological emotional concerns or problems to Principal and/or Guidance Counselor </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or designee as appropriate to the job title </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university, or Library Media Certification </li><li>Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certifications/license </li><li>Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively with others </li><li>Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing </li><li>Effective, active listening skills </li><li>Organizational and problem solving skills </li><li>General computer skills </li></ul> <p>Additional Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue </li><li>Occasional interaction with unruly students </li></ul>
