<p>Paul Robeson Charter School (PRCS) is a free, lottery-based, open-enrollment charter school serving students from across Trenton in grades K-1 and 3-8. The 2025-26 school year is an exciting year for PRCS because we will start serving students in 2nd grade and become a full K-8 school!</p> <p>The mission of Paul Robeson CS is to provide a personalized education that challenges, inspires and prepares students to passionately pursue their dreams & lead a life of active civic engagement. Our structured and nurturing community, comprehensive programming and rigorous academic curriculum are designed to build self-motivated citizens, eager learners and strong leaders - regardless of circumstance.</p> <p>We seek to provide project-based learning and high-quality instruction to help students grow as learners and citizens. We believe in rigorous and culturally relevant curriculum where all students are given an opportunity to reach high academic success. Our teachers engage in extensive planning, strong instructional execution, and common skill-based assessments. Our curriculum engages students in building their academic proficiency and social-emotional skills to be successful.</p> <p>Opportunity</p> <p>PRCS is seeking passionate and hardworking Learning Disabilities Teaching Consultant (LDTC) to join the PRCS family for the 2025-26 School Year. The person in this role is responsible for supporting students with diverse learning needs. The LDTC will assess, design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies to promote academic success for students with a range of learning challenges. The person in this role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create an inclusive learning environment tailored to the unique learning needs of each student.</p> <p>The LDTC will work with the Director of Student Support to case manage students in grades K-8. They should be well organized and will work on evaluations, IEPs, and other documentation for Special Education students. All teachers receive extensive preparation and collaborative planning time and regular supports and coaching from a departmentalized leadership team. All staff members are considered critical players in decision making processes and have the opportunity to influence the overall direction of the school.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Case manage 80-100 students in grades K-8 </li><li>Develop IEPs in collaboration with psychologist, teachers, families and other stakeholders for IEPs </li><li>Collaborate with the Special Education team to develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with students' needs and goals </li><li>Regularly assessing student progress and work with teachers to adjust instructional strategies to ensure academic growth and success; </li><li>Provide differentiated learning opportunities to support each students' academic growth; </li><li>Set and reinforce clear expectations for student engagement; </li><li>Continuously improve based on feedback and coaching from school leaders; </li><li>Reward positive student engagement and hold students accountable using school-wide systems; </li><li>Engage with family members regularly and participate in school-wide family engagement activities including phone calls to family members and school-based meetings with families; </li><li>Willing to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Outstanding instructional skills and data-driven approach to instructional planning; </li><li>Mastery and enthusiasm for content/subject area; </li><li>The ability to motivate students and cultivate a culture of achievement; </li><li>A belief that ALL students should be held to high academic standards; </li><li>Resilience and professionalism; </li><li>Commitment to school transformation and continuous improvement; </li><li>Open to feedback and coaching; </li><li>Strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement; </li><li>Collaborative approach to problem solving. </li></ul> <p>Educational Background and Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>Experience driving student achievement results; </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; </li><li>Must hold or be actively working to obtain NJ LDTC certification within the first year of employment and completed by the second year. </li></ul> <p>The Rewards</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary and benefits package; </li><li>Extensive teacher preparation time; </li><li>Professional collaboration with grade and content teams; </li><li>Weekly coaching and ongoing professional development; </li><li>Google Education platform for online assignment management; </li><li>Opportunity to shape and develop curriculum. </li></ul>
