We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Engineer to lead our Mechanical Engineering team in our Baltimore, MD office.</p> <p>This position will ill oversee day-to-day operations of the mechanical engineering team while continuing to serve in a senior technical capacity. This individual will provide mentorship, support project delivery, coordinate resources, and help drive consistency and quality across projects.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Team Leadership & Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Lead and support the mechanical engineering team in the Baltimore office. </li><li>Assist with workload planning, staff assignments, and resource coordination. </li><li>Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers. </li><li>Foster a collaborative and positive team environment. </li></ul> <p>Project Leadership & Technical Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Lead multidisciplinary project teams in the design and execution of mechanical systems. </li><li>Oversee HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design efforts across various building types. </li><li>Review engineering documents for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with codes and standards. </li><li>Serve as Engineer of Record on select projects as appropriate. </li><li>Help resolve technical challenges and maintain design consistency across the department. </li></ul> <p>Client & Internal Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with clients to understand project needs and ensure successful delivery. </li><li>Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and offices. </li><li>Support proposal efforts, including scope development and fee input. </li><li>Represent the mechanical team in project meetings and internal planning discussions. </li></ul> <p>Quality & Performance</p> <ul> <li>Promote adherence to WRA quality control processes. </li><li>Monitor project schedules and budgets in collaboration with project managers. </li><li>Encourage continuous improvement in design practices and project delivery. </li></ul> <p>Innovation & Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>Stay current with industry trends, sustainable design practices, and emerging technologies. </li><li>Encourage adoption of BIM, Revit, and energy modeling tools. </li><li>Support team members' professional growth and licensure goals. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering </li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Maryland or the ability to obtain one within 6 months through comity from another state. </li><li>Minimum of 16 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and project management. </li><li>Proficiency in industry software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling software. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, team members, and stakeholders. </li><li>Must be a US Citizen </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>WRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
