<p>Summary</p> <p>The Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care while providing excellent customer service to patients and the practice.</p> <p>Employees are expected to model the organization's core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence, while demonstrating teamwork, collaboration, and a strong patient focus.</p> <p>Locations:</p> <ul> <li>Providence </li><li>Johnston </li><li>Middletown </li><li>Barrington </li><li>Warwick </li><li>PLUS a new location coming soon! </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist with direct patient care and clinical support tasks </li><li>Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and verify medications </li><li>Prepare charts, complete data entry, and manage documentation </li><li>Perform routine procedures including EKGs, rapid strep tests, urine dips, spirometry, and nebulizer treatments </li><li>Administer vaccines, injections, and medications </li><li>Educate patients on medical instructions and care plans </li><li>Coordinate referrals, pre-authorizations, and follow-up care </li><li>Monitor quality reports and help close gaps in patient care </li><li>Maintain medical supply inventory and vaccine storage compliance </li><li>Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Department of Health regulations </li><li>Provide excellent customer service and patient care </li><li>Attend trainings and perform additional duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Completion of a Medical Assistant training program </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required - American Heart Association </li><li>Experience using EMR and scheduling software preferred </li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills </li><li>Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Healthcare setting with direct patient contact </li><li>Frequent standing, walking, and use of medical equipment </li><li>Ability to lift supplies or assist patients up to 50 pounds </li><li>Adherence to safety and infection control procedures </li></ul> <p>Pay Range:</p> <p>$18.13-$29.90</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>66 Branch Ave - 66 Branch Avenue Providence, Rhode Island 02904</p> <p>Work Type:</p> <p>3 12 hour and every other weekend</p> <p>Work Shift:</p> <p>Variable</p> <p>Daily Hours:</p> <p>12 hours</p> <p>Driving Required:</p> <p>No</p>
