<p>Job Summary This job is in the Purchasing Job Family (Department), which includes positions that involve performing work to acquire supplies and services by purchase or consignment and/or small purchase procedures. The work requires knowledge of policies and procedures for delivery orders and small purchases as well as knowledge of commercial supply sources and common business practices related to sales, inventory management, quality specifications, production processes and shipping/receiving. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Job Function Manage inventory and plan purchases for assigned commodities including buyouts. Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations. Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other issues. Make recertification requests with suppliers and update customer and internal documentation when received. Evaluate new potential suppliers for fit with business needs. Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists. Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders. Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts. Understand and follow purchasing procedures to ensure compliance during company or industry audits. DOG report review (slow moving items/inventory) along with aged stock (old inventory) Requires to be liaison between purchasing and QA/QC department Responsible for monitoring supplier performance report Monitor supply performance for delivery, quality and responsiveness and address any deficiencies. Maintain communication with suppliers and sales on changes in lead-times and/or allocation. All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management as required Required Skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods a plus Ability to adapt and work well in a fast-paced environment and can perform multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work well with others and have strong teamwork skills Excellent communication skills Previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience Minimum 3yrs of experience Detail oriented Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $24.00/Hr. - USD $26.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.</p>
