<p>Legenda/ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Accounting Coordinator for the Dayton Convention Center. This position is responsible for coordinating the Accounts Receivable process of the Finance Department along with other accounting duties related to the monthly financial process.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Process customer invoices for completed events and other activities </li><li>Set up new customers within accounting system </li><li>Prepare deposit reports & record deposits within accounting system </li><li>Record daily parking revenue within accounting system </li><li>Maintain and update A/R aging report </li><li>Responsible for collections on all A/R accounts </li><li>Actively coordinates with Finance, Sales, and event department to ensure collection of license agreement deposits </li><li>Maintains all customer and vendor files, respond to inquiries and research discrepancies </li><li>Maintains financial spreadsheets relating to deposits/payments received which will be used by the department </li><li>Support year-end audit functions and assist with other projects as needed </li><li>Back up to Accounts Payable and Payroll duties </li><li>Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. This includes initiating contact with guests within 10 feet - i.e., smiling, saying "Good Day', or aiding when needed. </li><li>Must feel comfortable with around large groups or speaking to a guest. </li><li>Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of "The Magic is in the details." </li><li>All other assigned duties. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Apply standard accounting principles, financial control procedures, computerized accounting systems/software, and fiscal management. </li><li>Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. </li><li>Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, vendors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in accounting, business or finance preferred or equivalent accounting experience </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication, organizational and people skills </li><li>Strong computer skills with spreadsheet experience required </li><li>Detail oriented </li><li>Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management and clients </li><li>Discretion in dealing with confidential and delicate materials and information. </li><li>Ability to accurately review statistical and other financial records and information. </li><li>Ability to work under above-average pressure in meeting urgent deadlines. </li><li>Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis. </li></ul> <p>Computer Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel & other specialized CRM software </li><li>Experience with an accounting software package is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Hours of Work and Travel Requirements</p> <p>Extended work hours may be required at times.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
