<p>Description</p> <p>Title: Graduate Assistant (HI UCEDD)</p> <p>Position Number: 0000GA11</p> <p>Hiring Unit: College of Education / Center on Disability Studies</p> <p>Location: Manoa</p> <p>Date Posted: July 30, 2025</p> <p>Closing Date: Continuous - Application review begins August 15, 2025</p> <p>Salary Information: Compensation commensurate with experience</p> <p>Monthly Type: 11 Month</p> <p>Full Time/Part Time: Part Time - Full Time Equivalency: 50%</p> <p>Temporary/Permanent: Temporary - Not to Exceed: June 30, 2026</p> <p>Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately late-August 2025 or soon thereafter. Continuation dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs and renewal of funds.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Under the direction of the Center on Disability Studies (CDS) Director provide support to the Hawaii University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) program, Pacific Basin UCEDD and related activities. </li><li>Conduct literature and resource searches and reviews for presentations at regional, national, and international conferences, project progress and annual reports, fact sheets, and manuscripts. Assist with grant writing activities for the CDS. </li><li>Assist Director and other project faculty and staff with preparing and editing presentation materials for CDS and UCEDDs presentations, workshops, and trainings. </li><li>Assist in implementing project research and evaluation activities, such as: entering project related data, developing, revising, and editing surveys and protocols, conducting focus groups and interviews, transcribing, conducting preliminary analysis, writing results and summaries for newsletters, articles and websites. </li><li>Assist with scheduling, organizing, and facilitating project meetings and trainings, including drafting meeting agendas, taking/disseminating meeting minutes, contacting participants, etc. </li><li>Assist in creating accessible documents and materials. </li><li>Organize and maintain physical and virtual project materials and related documents. </li><li>Assist in providing technical assistance to partner agencies and community organizations in Hawaii and PBUCE sites. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Acceptance or enrollment in a Graduate program in Disability Studies, Education, Educational Technology, Social Sciences or a related field at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. If currently enrolled - 3.0 GPA or above and making appropriate progress toward degree. </li><li>Knowledge of or interest in disability issues. </li><li>Basic understanding of Qualitative and Quantitative Research methods and tools. </li><li>Competent with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Google features, and Zoom functions. </li><li>Ability to work responsively and independently in a timely manner. </li><li>Experience conducting literature reviews. </li><li>Ability to edit written products such as grant proposals, articles, and newsletters. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with project members and community contacts. </li></ul> <p>Desirable Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience conducting research on grant funded projects. </li><li>Experience with grant writing and federal reports. </li><li>Familiarity with Hawaii and Pacific Island context and culture. </li><li>Experience working with persons with disabilities. </li><li>Capacity to organize and facilitate project meetings. </li><li>Excellent writing and editing skills. </li><li>Knowledge of standard statistical methods. </li><li>Familiarity with Data Visualization and infographics techniques and tools. </li><li>Successful record of publication. </li></ul> <p>To Apply: Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach required documents to the online application.
