<p>Description</p> <p>Provide crisis intervention, information and referral and safety planning through a 24 hour hotline. Provide general shelter support and assistance to direct service staff in providing services to shelter residents.</p> <p>Currently,there arefour (4)part-timepositions with nobenefits workingthefollowing hours and daysThese positions are located at the shelter. There isnoremote working.</p> <p>Friday & Saturday 11:00 p.m. - 7 a.m. part-time overnight (no benefits)</p> <p>Saturday & Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. part-time day (no benefits)</p> <p>Saturday & Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. part-time day (no benefits)</p> <p>Saturday & Sunday 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. part-time evening (no benefits)</p> <p>The employee(s) hired needs to be flexible because they will be responsible for working some holidays on an as needed basis.</p> <p>The part-time position will start at $15.62 per hour.</p> <p>As an employer, St. Louis County cares about the health and well-being of our employees. A full listing of benefits is available under the benefit tab at the top of this page.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Assist in providing new residents with transportation to shelter. </li><li>Assist in answering hotline calls, assist in determining resident eligibility for service, and assist in making arrangements for new resident admittance to shelter. </li><li>Assist in providing new resident with orientation to shelter facility and shelter guidelines. </li><li>Assist in maintaining a clean and sanitary shelter environment. </li><li>Establish positive relationships with residents that foster empowerment. </li><li>Provide appropriate community resources and referrals and advocacy to residents in coordination with case management staff. </li><li>In coordination with case management staff, provide follow-up services to residents departing from shelter. </li><li>Participate in special projects such as special events and field trips and assisting with coordinating and putting away donations. </li><li>Accurately collect and input data into database system. </li><li>Provide staff coverage on weekends. </li><li>Perform other duties as required or assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Associate's Degree in social sciences, psychology or related field or equivalent two years working with people in crisis.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.</p> <p>The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.</p> <p>The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.</p> <p>All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory.
