<p>Position Summary Location: Downtown Orlando - Orlando Regional Medical Service Division: Housekeeping & Environmental Services Status: Part Time Shift: First Shift Title: Environmental Technician II Position Summary: The Environmental Services Technician ll is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, clean, healing environment. Responsible for ensuring daily room cleaning and timely room turnaround times related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and customer experience Environmental Services Department at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) The Environmental Services (EVS) department at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) is integral to our mission of delivering exceptional patient care in one of the state's most dynamic healthcare environments. Voluntary: Auto Insurance, Accident Insurance, Hospital Indemnity Insurance, and Critical Illness Insurance 100% PAID Tuition, as well as tuition reimbursement & monthly payments to help pay down any graduated school debt Responsibilities Essential Functions • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques. • Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, and ancillary areas to include, but not limited to, bathrooms, public. areas, corridors, medication storage rooms as directed and any other areas that may require attention using designated and appropriate chemicals and cleaning procedures. • Accesses and uses all department related technology systems such as, but not limited to, the Bed Management systems. • Replenishes supplies as needed, removes bio-medical waste, trash, and soiled linen as required daily and changes cubicle/window curtains as needed. • Completes patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and overall cleanliness standards utilizing the approved procedures for patient room cleaning to include Bed Management systems where applicable. • Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products for all items within the healthcare environment for which tasked with servicing. • Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety. • Operates UV disinfection machine as needed or according to policy. • Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including, but not limited to, initiatives to improve Customer Experience and cleanliness metrics. Qualifications Education/Training High School Diploma or GED, preferred. Licensure/Certification Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST), preferred. Experience Three (3) or more years experience in Health care support services and/or environmental services, hospitality, or related field.</p> <p>Education/Training High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
