<p>The Digital Futures Institute (DFI) seeks to hire an Instructional Support Associate- Design Education for the Fall 2025 semester. In this part-time role, the Instructional Support Associate will support Teachers College faculty, students, and staff in working with multimodal design research. This includes assisting in the DFI workshops, professional development opportunities, and other administrative tasks as needed.</p> <p>The DFI Design Studio is a hands-on space where ideas take shape through materials, tools, and experimentation; from 3D printing, laser cutting, coded embroidery, soldering, woodworking, and more. The ISA-Design Education is based in the DFI Design Studio. The role requires work 19 hours per week, and this role is hired on a semester basis.</p> <p>Job Summary/ Basic Function:</p> <p>The ideal candidate should have a passion for higher education and adult professional development along with an outstanding aptitude for teaching and learning new technologies. The candidate will also be able to communicate professionally and personably with any faculty, student or staff and demonstrate a high level of empathy and proactive problem-solving abilities. It is also essential that the candidate be able to work with minimal supervision, juggle multiple projects, and maintain a "can-do" mindset, even when facing daunting challenges.</p> <p>CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with planning and implementation of programs that facilitate research development for graduate students, faculty and staff within DFI </li><li>Help with website updates, communications, and organizing the database for DFI, contributing to scheduling and data analysis </li><li>Assist with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the Design Studio, ensuring a functional and welcoming space </li><li>Assist with design studio open hours by providing consultations on visual research methods, this will be a weekly in-person requirement for a minimum of 8 hours a week </li><li>Utilize a ticketing system and project management system to track various responsibilities </li><li>Testing course technology and activities </li><li>Support faculty with simple media creation </li><li>Providing administrative support as needed </li><li>Support DFI full-time staff in workshops, webinars, and other DFI sponsored events </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Working knowledge of Design Software, Adobe Suite </li><li>Experience with graphic and digital design in a professional setting </li><li>Experience working at a higher education institution, educational organization, or a corporate training environment </li><li>Strong writing and editing skills </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively </li><li>Strong customer service skills </li><li>Accommodate a flexible work schedule, including after hours and weekends </li><li>Ability to work in person and virtually </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree </li><li>Graphic design studio experience </li><li>Layout and typesetting knowledge </li><li>Gallery or exhibit curation experience </li><li>Museum education experience </li><li>HTML and CSS knowledge </li><li>Video and audio recording knowledge </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $25.00/hour</p> <p>Application materials needed: Resumé and cover letter</p> <p>Work Modality: Onsite</p> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity</p> <p>Teachers College is committed to fostering an inclusive academic community and to providing equal opportunity in employment.
