<p>Position: State Support Team (SST) Consultant (Literacy Focus)</p> <p>Location: State Support Team Region 14 - Hopewell Center | Southern Ohio Educational Service Center</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>Under administrative direction, the State Support Team (SST) School Improvement Consultant provides high-quality technical assistance and professional development to school district and instructional leaders for the purpose of building capacity to plan and implement school improvement processes. Reference the job description linked below for additional information.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Master's Degree in the area for which employee has primary responsibility (i.e., education, special education, early childhood education, education administration or an appropriate related field or evidence of equivalency).</p> <p>Three to five years of successful classroom teaching, school improvement planning, special education administration, or related experience; a license appropriate to the individual's profession (special education administration, intervention specialist, early learning, age 3 to grade 3, related services).</p> <p>Expertise and/or significant leadership experience in several of the following areas:</p> <p>Knowledge of IDEA, ESSA, and Elementary and Secondary</p> <p>Education Act (ESEA);</p> <p>Data analysis, including data-based decision making and a thorough understanding of Ohio's accountability system;</p> <p>Research-based instructional practices, particularly development and implementation of academic and behavior supports;</p> <p>Focused planning, including use of strategic problem solving;</p> <p>Coaching and consultation skills;</p> <p>Implementation and monitoring of improvement efforts;</p> <p>Culturally responsive practices;</p> <p>Delivery of high-quality professional development and technical assistance;</p> <p>School administration;</p> <p>Early childhood education, preschool special education, early education preschool to grade 3, or other early childhood setting such as Head Start or community-based childcare; and/or</p> <p>Special education.</p> <p>OLAC Certified Facilitator.</p> <p>Must pass a criminal background check.</p> <p>Current driver's license and reliable transportation.</p> <p>The Job Description and Salary Schedule B can be found at www.soesc.org/employment</p>
