Come join us as we push forward into the future of industry leading technological solutions.</p> <p>Berkley Technology Services: Right Team, Right Technology, Simple and Secure.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, modification, analysis and implementation of software programming applications for the various subsidiaries of the corporation. They are responsible for updating and/or enhancing existing software capabilities applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.</p> <p>Key functions include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Architect and design configuration and integration workflows within multiple enterprise applications; </li><li>Architect and design scalable microservices; </li><li>Automate processes in various stages of SDLC and build pipeline for continuous integrations using DevOps tools like docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins; </li><li>Maintain production systems after release by using monitoring tools; </li><li>Build low-latency, highly fault tolerant APIs to be consumed by multiple client systems; </li><li>Work closely with other members in Software Development Team and perform code review upholding best practices and architectural patterns; </li><li>Translate insurance-related functional requirements for BTS backend systems into technical requirements and/or change orders that will expand the capabilities of our applications; </li><li>Participate in planning software development to generate more efficient backend system processing; </li><li>Conduct unit testing in controlled, real situations before going live; and </li><li>Perform recruiting screening and technical assessments of incoming candidates. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field plus 5 years of progressive experience in Any occupation which includes the required experience and skills. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field plus 5 years of progressive experience, employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in any occupation which includes the required experience and skills.</p> <p>Experience must include:</p> <ul> <li>5 or 3 years of experience (depending on degree) with software engineering at the enterprise scale using Agile technologies. </li><li>5 or 3 years of experience (depending on degree) architecting, reviewing, and implementing design patterns for scalable, performant, and resilient systems. </li><li>5 or 3 years of experience (depending on degree) building REST APIs and Microservices. </li><li>5 or 3 years of experience (depending on degree) working with SQL and relational database servers utilizing Oracle, MySQL, or SQL server. </li><li>5 or 3 years of experience (depending on degree) working with DevOps tools including docker, Jenkins or Kubernetes. </li><li>5 or 3 years of experience (depending on degree) working with the enterprise observability tools. </li></ul> <p>TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Approximately 10% domestic travel required to unanticipated client locations.</p> <p>Additional Company Details</p> <p>We do not accept any unsolicited resumes from external recruiting agencies or firms.
