We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated CNC Machinist Trainee to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on 1st shift. The core hours for the position are 3:15 PM - 12:45 AM, which includes running one hour of mandatory overtime, offered at the end of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Displays familiarity with machining knowledge; understands and effectively employs knowledge.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>With limited technical supervision, checks out programming, sets up, operates and adjusts computer numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications </li><li>Works from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions </li><li>Self-sufficient with material clamping methods, machine adjustments/offsets and console settings </li><li>Operations include drilling, honing, boring, milling and turning, screw machine operation, etc., on routine and repetitive operations </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma/GED </li><li>Machining Training Certificate preferred </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CNC Machinist II or minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience as a CNC machinist </li></ul> <p>Skills / Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of Common GD&T restraints such as runout, concentricity, and Parallelism </li><li>Proficient in use of shop math </li><li>Limited technical supervision </li><li>Requires knowledge of machining techniques such as cutting jaws, touching tools off and tramming fixtures </li><li>Familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures such as dry run, geometry and wear offsets, MDI functions and basic G codes </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Lifting up to 40 pounds </li><li>Frequent walking and standing </li><li>Occasional sitting </li></ul>
