We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring undergraduates and who demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of social justice in higher education.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>The teaching load for visiting faculty is four courses per semester. For the Fall 2026 semester, the successful candidate will be expected to teach two sections of Introduction to Sociology, a sociological theories course, and a research methods course. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong record of teaching Introduction to Sociology and with expertise that complements existing departmental strengths.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <p>Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Sociology or a related discipline. ABD candidates will be considered if they have relevant experience and an established plan to complete the degree by August 1, 2026.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Physical Demands</p> <p>While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to use their hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee must be able to use the stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
