And if that's you we would love to have you join us!</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>This is technical leadership position within a Rockwell Automation's product R&D organization, setting the foundation for future generations of Rockwell's power control business product portfolio. You will lead development of motor control architectural specifications for new products, optimizing and balancing the following goals: performance, simplicity, time to market, reusability, maintainability, and user experience at launch and throughout a product's lifecycle. This role is a systems architecture role involving designing solutions that work for multiple products in our portfolio and working alongside motor control and embedded system experts to create software designs that work for multiple drive products.</p> <p>A background in motor control engineering and a systems mindset is required. If outstanding technical opportunities, being part of, and learning from, one of the most experienced teams in the industry interest you, you should consider Rockwell Automation.</p> <p>Your Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design control systems architecture, functional interfaces and define system integration requirements, while partnering with other architects to support a common architecture vision and strategy. Lead teams within the organization to solve architectural and implementation problems. </li><li>Stay abreast on current and accelerating new technologies, best practices, and contemporary motor control engineering tools and methodologies. </li><li>Design control subsystems that balance the following goals: performance, simplicity, development time and effort, reusability, extendibility, and reliability. Review the subsystem and system designs of others for possible effects on system performance. </li><li>Collaborate with peer systems architects in other BUs, in particular, our motion business and SIC to create a common architecture vision. Collaborate with subject matter experts to facilitate delivery of simplified and unique products and solutions that solve real-world customer problems at the best cost points. </li><li>Create system and product level architectural documents that explain the functionality and interfaces between components at the right level for implementation by engineering. </li><li>Create proof of concept deliverables, define logical work sequencing, and map a clear process for product integration. </li><li>Be an independent voice in liaising between product management and functional/technical leads within the business to clarify requirements, understanding concepts and issues, and resolving problems and anomalies. Influence decisions within multiple teams across Rockwell Automation. </li><li>Develop a product, system, and customer view. Be an abstract thinker and step away from the details to look at "the big picture" and conveys architectural vision. </li><li>Demonstrate expertise through customer support, presentations, and white papers </li></ul> <p>The Essentials - You Will Have:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience. </li><li>Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 10%. </li></ul> <p>The Preferred - You Might Also Have:</p> <ul> <li>Typically requires 8+ years system level design experience in motor control systems. </li><li>Experience working as a design and technical leader who builds partnerships in a matrixed environment and directs the activities of other employees. </li><li>Significant experience building motor control systems in Simulink. </li><li>Expertise in motor control engineering technology development. </li><li>Expertise in active front ends. </li><li>Possesses an understanding of how customers use motor drive products and how they fit into target applications and system environments. </li><li>Understands the competitive landscape for our technology and products. </li><li>Graduate degree relevant to control systems or equivalent in-depth knowledge and experience. </li><li>Breath of knowledge and expertise across multiple engineering disciplines </li><li>Embedded systems experience. </li></ul> <p>What We Offer:</p> <ul> <li>Health Insurance including Medical, Dental and Vision </li><li>401k </li><li>Paid Time off </li><li>Parental and Caregiver Leave </li><li>Flexible Work Schedule where you will work with your manager to enjoy a work schedule that fit with your personal life. </li><li>To learn more about our benefits package, please visit at www.raquickfind.com. </li></ul> <p>For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $140,880.00 - 211,320.00 with an annual target bonus of 8% of base salary.
