<p>194 day contract</p> <p>Monday-Friday</p> <p>6 hours daily</p> <p>Pay Column G: $15.73/hourly</p> <ul> <li>Benefits </li></ul> <p>Laramie County School District 1</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Job Title: Transportation Assistant</p> <p>Revised Date: June 2020</p> <p>Department: Transportation</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-exempt</p> <p>Work Year: 10 Months</p> <p>Salary Schedule: Transportation-194 days</p> <p>SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the providing support within the student transportation services area with specific responsibilities for assisting special education students during transport to and from school and/or special activities; and ensuring the safety and sanitation of assigned vehicles.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Monitors students with special needs until released to teach, instructional assistant, parent, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the safe transportation of all passengers. </li></ol> <p>D</p> <p>30%</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Assists the substitute driver by knowing the route and procedures to ensure students are transported safely and to the correct destination. </li></ol> <p>D</p> <p>5%</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Operates lifts and radio when necessary to ensure students are loaded and unloaded safely and that the bus dispatcher can be contacted when the driver is unable to operate the radio. </li></ol> <p>W</p> <p>5%</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Secures students and/or equipment (e.g. safety vest, wheelchair, tie-downs, seat belts, etc.) to ensure safety and well-being of students.
