<p>This physical therapist provides professional, independent physical therapy services in the assigned area with the general supervision of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Manager and located at CBOC Wausau, WI. In addition to the general outpatient setting, this position would be involved in the Active Management of Pain (AMP) program with additional training available after onboarding process.</p> <p>Major duties include but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates knowledge relative to the impact of acute, chronic, and overuse musculoskeletal injuries, with conditions affecting the spine, shoulder, hips and knees, and overall persistent pain conditions. </li><li>Independently performs comprehensive evaluations that include but are not limited to the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, integumentary, and cardiovascular systems, and the patient's functional status. </li><li>Independently establishes therapeutic agendas based on the patient's age, identified deficits, and expressed goals. </li><li>Independently able to solve complex problems as related to physical therapy, adapting, and modifying treatment plans, activities, and procedures to meet the needs of the patient with complex disabilities, including assisting with discharge planning and ensuring follow-up </li></ul> <p>care.</p> <ul> <li>Functions as a resource during evaluation, treatment, and family conferences, providing insights relative to the patient's functional level and recommendations for disposition. </li><li>Evaluates patient's needs for assistive devices, and adaptive appliances, recommends adjustments for prosthetic/orthotic devices and makes minor adjustments to obtain maximal functional benefits. </li><li>Completes all patient care documentation in accordance with rehabilitation policy. </li><li>Communicates readily with the multidisciplinary treatment team, advising the team of patient's needs and progress; this communication occurs through team meetings, written reports, and verbal communication, such as personal and telephone conversations. </li><li>Functions as a mentor to other physical medicine and rehabilitation services (PMRS) staff via in-servicing, 1:1 instruction, and sharing of current research in relevant clinical topics. </li><li>Responsible for coordinating and maintaining records related to required monthly pain chart audits. </li><li>Responsible for submitting annual mandatory training reports to Leadership and ensuring compliance with VISN educational requirements. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm</p> <p>Telework: Not Available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Functional Statement #: 01838G</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p>
