<p>We are seeking an experienced, self-starter Network Engineer with a passion for tackling complex network challenges and delivering exceptional service to our clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and security of our clients' networks, including providing advanced network support, troubleshooting complex issues, and working closely with Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams to deliver superior service to our clients.</p> <p>Vital IT Network Systems (VINS) is a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) dedicated to delivering top-tier IT solutions and network services to a diverse client base. We are committed to providing exceptional support and maintaining the highest standards of network performance and security.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced Network Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex network issues, including routing, switching, and firewall configurations, to ensure optimal performance and uptime for our clients. You will be the "go-to" person when it comes to anything related to the assigned client's environment </li><li>Customer Onboarding: Assist in new customer due diligence assessments, onboarding, integration, and support </li><li>Network Design and Optimization: Collaborate with Tier 2 and engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize network solutions that align with client requirements and best practices </li><li>Security Management: Assist in maintaining and enhancing network security measures, including firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to protect client assets from security threats </li><li>Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for Tier 2 analysts, client IT teams, and clients themselves, providing regular updates and ensuring clear and effective communication </li><li>Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and incident resolution procedures to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and future reference </li><li>Monitoring and Alerts: Use network monitoring tools to proactively identify potential issues and respond to alerts promptly, ensuring minimal network disruptions </li><li>Escalation Support: Assist in Tier 2 escalations, providing guidance and expertise to resolve network incidents and issues effectively. </li><li>Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and MSP standards, and actively contribute to process improvements within the organization. </li></ul> <p>Our ideal future team member will have:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred) </li><li>Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration, troubleshooting, and support. This includes proficiency in network technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs </li><li>Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers </li><li>Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation </li><li>Strong understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and subnetting </li><li>Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems </li><li>Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication & interpersonal skills while working in a collaborative team environment </li><li>Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support </li><li>This is fully remote position; however, you must be located in the Southeast US (preferably Tennessee, Georgia or Florida).
