<ul> <li> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> </li><li> <p>Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager this position will provide general specimen processing and clerical support for Laboratory Services Dept.</p> </li><li> <p>DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> </li><li> <p>Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:</p> </li><li> <p>Answer the phone in a timely and courteous manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in calling ordering facilities for samples needing recollected.</p> </li><li> <p>Processes and accession blood, tissues, and body fluids for testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Centrifuge specimens, and load/unload samples from automated instrumentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and reconcile pending logs throughout the day, and investigate any discrepancies.</p> </li><li> <p>All other processing and clerical duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum requirement:</p> </li><li> <p>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred qualifications:</p> </li><li> <p>N/A</p> </li><li> <p>WORKING ENVIRONMENT</p> </li><li> <p>This job operates in a professional office environment</p> </li><li> <p>The noise levels in the environment are usually low</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals</p> </li><li> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally required to maintain a stationary position (standing or sitting)</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently required to walk and move about</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Constantly required to communicate with physicians and other care team requiring talking and hearing</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds</p> </li><li> <p>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color</p> </li></ul>
