<p>Hardin School Districts 17H & 1 are accepting applications for a School Nurse, Crow Agency Public School for the 2025-2026 school year. </p> <p>Academic Qualifications: Applicant must hold a current license through the State of Montana. RN Preferred. LPN or CNA acceptable with 5+ years of experience.</p> <p>To apply, go to https://hardinpublic.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx</p> <p>Only complete online applications will be considered</p> <p>Position Description:</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: School Nurse</p> <p>FACILITY: District Wide-Affiliated Buildings-Crow Agency, Fort Smith, Hardin</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principals</p> <p>POSITION OVERVIEW: </p> <p>Provides professional quality nursing service to individuals and students, and nursing consultation to school staff. Maintains health files on all children as required by law or guidelines. Oversees and/or arranges necessary care for children whose health status does not meet requirements. Directly responsible for students’ safety and well- being.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Provides professional quality nursing service to individuals and students, and nursing consultation to school staff</p> <p>Follows established School District policies for the quality and content of health education</p> <p>Maintains a professional leadership role in the development, implementation and interpretation of the school health program</p> <p>Performs a variety of professional services for the detection of health problems and the promotion of good health in the school setting</p> <p>Evaluates and maintains, and updates student health records</p> <p>Attends to health or accident problems that arise during the school day, making appropriate referrals</p> <p>Contacts parents and health care providers to secure services for children</p> <p>Supervises and assists with physicals that are necessary for school programs</p> <p>Administers or assists with vision and hearing screenings and make appropriate referrals</p> <p>Acts as a liaison with other health agencies, students, and students’ families so the handicapped or chronically ill children can function in school</p> <p>Provides professional assistance on the identification and prevention of communicable diseases.</p> <p>Trains and equips staff in proper health procedures</p> <p>Coordinates schedules with building staff</p> <p>May travel between buildings</p> <p>Only minimum duties and responsibilities are listed. Other duties and responsibilities may be required as given or assigned</p> <p>DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:</p> <p>Current Registered Nurse License, RN (preferred)</p> <p>Current Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN (with 5+ years of experience)</p> <p>Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA (with 5+ years of experience)</p> <p>CPR card</p> <p>SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:</p> <p>Knowledge of general concepts of child growth, development, and behavior characteristics</p> <p>Knowledge and use of CPR, First Aid, and Heimlich maneuver</p> <p>Knowledge of public education goals and objectives</p> <p>Ability to read and interpret documents</p> <p>Ability to follow both oral and written directions and instructions</p> <p>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence</p> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and school community</p> <p>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing </p> <p>Ability to be flexible in scheduling and planning</p> <p>Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities</p> <p>Ability to handle stressful situations</p> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and student matters</p> <p>Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all District requirements and Board policies</p> <p>EQUIPMENT USED:</p> <p>Medical Equipment, computer, various software, copier, telephone, general school/office equipment</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, occasionally walk and stand. Will travel from building to other sites. Will carry equipment and objects.</p> <p>Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this position, the employee rarely performs routine work. The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another). Guidance and reinforcement are usually available. The employee frequently works within time constraints and maintains attentiveness intensity.
