<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under general supervision, the position provides job readiness assessment, referrals to job opportunities and additional community resources/programming, technical/vocational, and employer focused training, for adult DOC clients inside and outside the institutions in the Region. This includes placement or referral of DOC clients on community supervision into programming to address criminogenic needs and increase job readiness skills, competitive employment, school or training programs and subsidized employment opportunities. The position also provides assistance to clients who have participated in apprenticeship programs within the institution to connect to further training/employment upon release to the community. Priority is given to clients who are releasing from incarceration to the community prior to release from a DOC institution. Responsibilities also consist of the establishment of strong community and inter-agency relations to include other services to address criminogenic needs, employment services and technical colleges/training programs. This position provides technical assistance and consultation to clients, DOC staff, and public/private sector employers, regarding DOC funded services, and management of DCC-contracted programs.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule/range 07-04 with an annual salary of $44241 - $72924, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>The qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described between the letter of qualification and resume:</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Employment and employability related issues (e.g. skills assessment, resume writing, job search methods, job seeking tools and resources, labor market analysis, job placement, etc.,). </li><li>Providing employment-related services to businesses and community resources (e.g., job referrals, applicant screening, training programs, etc.). </li><li>Providing counseling services and technical assistance to clients regarding crisis situations, personal problems, career planning, job placement, alcohol and drug abuse, anger management, etc. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinating placement activities with Department of Workforce Development, Workforce Investment Act, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and/or other community resources. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
