<p>GarrettX is a leading heavy civil construction company in the state of Arkansas. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in safely transporting heavy equipment on lowboy flatbed trailers, securing loads with chains and binders, and navigating over-dimensional and overweight loads.</p> <ul> <li>Transport heavy equipment, machinery, and materials to and from job sites using lowboy flatbed trailers. </li><li>Safely load, secure, and unload equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies. </li><li>Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with DOT regulations. </li><li>Plan routes and navigate safely, considering factors such as overhead clearances, weight restrictions, and road conditions. </li><li>Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other appropriate equipment, ensuring that all cargo is properly balanced and secured. </li><li>Communicate effectively with dispatchers, field superintendents, project managers, and other team members to coordinate transportation activities and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials. </li><li>Follow all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating commercial vehicles. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspections, as required by company policy and regulatory agencies. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment as needed and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. </li><li>Valid Arkansas Class A CDL driver's license with a clean driving record. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience as a heavy haul driver, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry. </li><li>Experience transporting oversize, overweight, and over-height loads. </li><li>Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices. </li><li>Ability to operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, bulldozers, and excavators is a plus. </li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. </li><li>Attention to detail and a commitment to safety at all times. </li><li>Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as needed. </li></ul>
