<p>The Education Program Specialist plays a key role at the board. In this position, you will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Serving as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 3301.13 O.R.C. </li><li>Developing systems and protocols to plan, design, and evaluate professional development that supports statewide educator effectiveness initiatives (e.g., induction, mentoring, Resident Educator, Master Teacher, LPDC, educator standards). </li><li>Developing and recommending professional development for Educator Learning and Effectiveness (ELE) initiatives across multiple delivery methods (e.g., in-person, online, LMS, blended). </li><li>Ensuring ELE professional development aligns with educator standards and adult learning theory </li><li>Creating products, tools, and methods for appropriate ELE implementation based on best practices and established guidelines </li><li>Providing technical assistance to ELE programs through verbal and written communication regarding policies regulating systems that support professional development </li><li>Collaborating across the agency to develop and deploy aligned systems and protocols for ELE program development, program support, and professional development delivery </li><li>Ensuring professional development initiatives contribute to improved student achievement and enhance educators' daily practice </li><li>Maintaining detailed records for the complete initiative lifecycle </li><li>Implementing data systems to manage work and document stakeholder input </li><li>Designing opportunities for stakeholder input and feedback to evaluate initiatives </li><li>Researching, compiling data, analyzing, reviewing, interpreting, and completing reports related to ELE initiatives </li><li>Reviewing changing state and federal laws, best practices, educational data, and research, and recommending policy changes to supervisors </li><li>Proactively communicating initiative progress to leadership and stakeholders through weekly reports and meeting agendas </li><li>Developing Resident Educator (RE) training and supporting materials </li><li>Providing administrative support for the RE program and program coordinators </li><li>Providing technical assistance to districts and participants involved in the RE program </li><li>Collaborating with Education Program Specialists in licensure to address issues related to the Resident Educator license and LPDC </li><li>Traveling statewide for presentations, conferences, training sessions, and meetings </li><li>Performing other related duties as assigned </li><li>Traveling throughout the State of Ohio, which may require overnight stays </li><li>Maintaining a valid driver's license or supplying own transportation </li><li>Completion of graduate core program in education, human capital leadership, public policy AND 3 years' experience in teaching, human capital leadership, evaluation, and/or education administration, which must include designing and delivering professional development. </li><li>OR Completion of an undergraduate core program in education, human capital leadership, or public policy AND 4 years' experience in teaching, human capital leadership evaluation, and/or education administration, which must include designing and delivering professional development. </li><li>OR 6 years' experience in teaching, human capital leadership, evaluation, and/or education administration, which must include designing and delivering professional development </li></ul> <p>Job Skills: Educational support</p>
