<p>Description: This classroom teacher position is located at Halifax Elementary School in Halifax, MA and reports directly to the building principal.</p> <p>A successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a valid MA license to teach grades 1-6, Elementary (1-6) and SEI Endorsement </li><li>Collaborate with grade level teachers </li><li>Collaborate with Special Education leadership and teacher colleagues to review IEPs and ensure all accommodations are properly and consistently delivered </li><li>Use data to inform instruction </li><li>Communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing </li><li>Work with students, colleagues and families from diverse backgrounds with diverse needs in an inclusive and culturally-proficient manner </li><li>Support students academically, emotionally, and behaviorally </li><li>Plan and facilitate lessons </li><li>Use all available technology and virtual curricula provided by the district to create engaging lessons that are linked with 21st Century skills </li><li>Manage classroom behavior with positive behavior strategies that motivate students and limit disruptions </li><li>Administer assessments and utilize available data to make instructional decisions that target the academic and linguistics needs of students including MCAS and ACCESS, as well as district wide formative assessments </li><li>Utilize inclusive practices and SEI strategies for students on IEPs and English Learners </li><li>Utilize available data to make instructional decisions that target the academic and linguistics needs of students </li><li>Communicate with families on a regular basis using culturally responsive strategies that promote two-way conversations </li><li>Employ a strong growth mindset and participate in professional development </li><li>Proctor assessments for students on exams including MCAS and ACCESS </li></ul> <p>This is a fulltime benefits eligible position through the Town of Halifax and salary is commensurate with experience, education and alignment to the Halifax Teachers Association contract.</p>
