<p>Position at New York City Transit</p> <p>Title: Train Service Supervisor - Field Operations Safety and Support</p> <p>Opens: December 10, 2025</p> <p>Closes: January 10, 2026</p> <p>Authority: TA</p> <p>Department: Subways</p> <p>Division/Unit: Service Delivery/Field Operations Safety & Support</p> <p>Reports to: General Superintendent</p> <p>Location: 130 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201</p> <p>Hours of Work: 0700 Hours - 1500 Hours</p> <p>This position is open to Train Service Supervisors only</p> <p>Compensation</p> <p>Note: You will maintain your current rate of pay.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Department of Subways, Service Delivery is seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill a vacancy in Field Operations Safety & Support. The duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare Emergency Evacuation Plans (EEPs) for RTO facilities. Supervise the related field data collection and installation of signs. </li><li>Collects Emergency Evacuation Device (EED) inspection forms several times each year (4 times each year for OPTO; 3 times for non-OPTO) and submit to Office of System Safety and Department of Subways Safety. </li><li>Collects approximately 270 Jumper Cable Box Inspection forms three times each year. </li><li>Prepares and submits monthly Safety Reminders to Service Delivery Managers. </li><li>Generates and maintains databases for the Tabletop Fire Drills. </li><li>Schedules Train Service Supervisors for F07 Fire Safety Course. </li><li>Performs Fire Drills and Safety Field Inspections. </li><li>Participates in the inspection of the physical structure of over 850 DOS/Service Delivery Room Enclosures and Conditions as mandated by the Structural Inspection P/I VII.E.1 and per P/I XV.E (Excluding Manholes or Emergency Exits). </li></ul> <p>The incumbent may assist other operating departments within Service Delivery such as, but not limited to, revenue service and/or yard operations, and various projects. In addition to writing of Bulletins, Notices, and Procedures, conducts investigations into collisions, derailments, and operating incidents by probationary employees.</p> <p>The selected candidate(s) may be required to work weekends, holidays, various tours to respond to and investigate emergencies and other responsibilities of the unit.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>At time of appointment, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years in the title.</p> <p>Desired Skills</p> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge of the NYCT Rules and Regulations and Department of Subways Operating Procedures </li><li>Preparing clear, concise and thorough reports, memos and other written materials </li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) </li><li>Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat </li><li>Making sound recommendations and implementing them when approved </li><li>Exercising sound independent judgment within general policy guidelines </li><li>Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within and outside the unit </li><li>Representing the unit at meetings </li></ul> <p>Selection Method</p> <p>Based on evaluation of education skills. experience and interview.</p> <p>All appointments with the exception of Department of Subways employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.</p> <p>Other Information</p> <p>Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the "Commission").</p> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity</p> <p>MTA and its subsidiary and affiliated agencies are Equal Opportunity Employers, including with respect to veteran status and individuals with disabilities.</p> <p>The MTA encourages qualified applicants from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and abilities, including military service members, to apply.</p>
