<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We are seeking motivated and dedicated interns to participate in our internship program through Holyoke Public Schools Extended Learning Department. As a student intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience ideally aligned with your career of interest. A Beyond the Bell Afterschool program intern will support the delivery of high-quality, engaging, and supportive educational programming for students in grades K-5. This role offers valuable experience in educational settings, contributing to both the academic and social-emotional development of younger students.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Classroom Assistance: </li><li>Support teachers and program staff in classroom activities, including academic and enrichment sessions. </li><li>Provide one-on-one or small group academic and social-emotional support to students. </li><li>Mentoring and Leadership: </li><li>Act as a role model and mentor, encouraging positive behavior and engagement among students. </li><li>Lead or co-lead enrichment activities, fostering creativity and critical thinking. </li><li>Program Support: </li><li>Assist in preparing materials and setting up activities for daily programming. </li><li>Help ensure a safe and inclusive environment by adhering to established health and safety protocols. </li><li>Professional Development: </li><li>Participate in ongoing training sessions to develop skills in teaching, mentoring, and professional communication. </li><li>Reflect on experiences through regular check-ins and discussions, contributing to personal and professional growth. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Holyoke High School student with an interest in education, youth development, or related fields with good academic standing. </li><li>Ability to engage positively with young children and serve as a role model. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Dependable, responsible, and committed to the internship duration. </li></ul> <p>Time Commitment:</p> <ul> <li>Summer Intern duration is from 6/26/25-7/7/25 </li></ul> <p>Benefits for Interns:</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience in educational settings. </li><li>Professional growth through structured training and mentoring. </li><li>Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of younger students. </li></ul> <p>Hrly rate 15.00 per hour.</p>
