<p>Position: Drafting Teacher</p> <p>Organization: Chicopee Comprehensive High School/Career and Technical Education</p> <p>Town: Chicopee</p> <p>Category: Career and Technical Teacher: Manufacturing, Engineering and Technological Cluster</p> <p>Certification Required: Yes</p> <p>Field: Drafting</p> <p>Position Description: Prepare for the delivery of appropriate instruction in accordance with department goals and objectives following proven procedures.</p> <ul> <li>Organize instruction sequentially following the most current Massachusetts CVTE Curriculum Frameworks outlined in the Drafting occupational area under the Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology Cluster and utilizing Competency Based Education methods and techniques as appropriate to individual student learning styles. Provide quality instruction relative to all aspects of Health and Safety as they relate to the Manufacturing Industry. </li><li>Use methods of instruction that are welcoming, motivating and supporting. </li><li>Create an environment that is conducive to learning. </li><li>Cooperate with intra and extra department efforts to integrate instruction </li><li>Attend curriculum development meetings. </li><li>Participate in activities that promote the best interest of our students and our school. </li><li>Engage in professional development programs to keep current with modern pedagogy. </li><li>Maintain decorum and control of assigned students for the purposes of enhancing learning and insuring a safe and healthful environment in the classroom and throughout the school. </li><li>Abide by school procedures, rules and directives. </li><li>Utilize school support services as needed. </li><li>The candidate must be able to inspire excellence, achieve consensus and respond effectively to the system's mission with humor and enthusiasm. </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Possess necessary approvals to teach Drafting as prescribed by The Department of Education, as put forth by Chapter 74, as amended by Chapter 731 and The Education Reform Act of 1993.</p> </li><li> <p>ADDA certified.</p> </li><li> <p>Four Years of full-time employment experience directly related to drafting, passing score of at least a 70% on each test (written test and performance test) in drafting, Associate degree or higher degree related to drafting, achieve a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills test or achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test (VTLST).</p> </li><li> <p>Possess successful background which insures capabilities to succeed as an instructor in the field of expertise.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate characteristics which clearly indicate an ability to relate positively to students and colleagues.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a clear sense of purpose as it pertains to teaching young people who attend this school.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a personal history which is exemplary, supported with references.</p> </li><li> <p>Strive to complete sixty (60) hours of professional development each year.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a current license in trade area.</p> </li></ol>
