<p>Responsibilities for this Position</p> <p>Engineer - Systems</p> <p>US-CT-Groton</p> <p>Job ID: 2026-18884</p> <p>Type: Full-Time</p> <p># of Openings: 2</p> <p>Category: Engineering</p> <p>EB Groton Shipyard</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Opportunities are available for Electrical, Mechanical and other engineers within D465, the Electrical Components Department, to develop various engineered components for submarine applications working with other Electric Boat, Navy, and outside supplier personnel. Some of these components include electrical hull penetrators, outboard cable assemblies, power distribution hardware and secondary propulsion units/systems.</p> <p>Some of the key responsibilities associated with this job include:</p> <ul> <li>Development of technical requirements </li><li>Supplier oversight/project management </li><li>Review of drawings and technical documentation: procedures, reports, technical manuals, specifications, etc. </li><li>Leading meetings and presentations </li><li>Associated project management activities </li><li>Working with the customer (NAVY) as necessary </li></ul> <p>Successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of their assigned components including:</p> <ul> <li>Understanding system/component operational needs and requirements </li><li>Supporting development of associated technical documentation including: </li></ul> <p>technical manuals operating instructions, ship system manuals, test forms, repair parts lists, procurement specifications, etc.</p> <ul> <li>Managing system and component interfaces including: </li></ul> <p>electrical, structural, piping, and mechanical</p> <ul> <li>Supporting 3D model development and arrangement of systems and components </li><li>Overseeing vendor design development, manufacturing, testing, and qualification </li><li>Obtaining customer approval of designs and requirements via formal correspondence </li><li>Construction engineering support on site in the shipyard(s) as required </li></ul> <p>Periodic overtime, or travel to Navy and supplier facilities may be required.</p> <p>Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as other variables. Please ask for more details on how it applies to this opening during discussions with the department.</p> <p>This is your opportunity to contribute to the design and construction of the next generation of US NAVY submarines!</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Marine, Civil, or Engineering </li><li>5+ years of postgraduate engineering experience </li><li>Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced Degree </li><li>Experience working with suppliers/subcontractors </li><li>A diverse knowledge of electrical engineering concepts </li></ul>
