<p>Description</p> <p>The Project Engineer designs all aspects of all thermal systems and process equipment meeting safety standards, project deadlines and project cost constraints to meet or exceed our customer's needs. May be required to assist in directing and coordinating activities to meet project specifications and deadlines as a group lead while managing direct reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Review, interpret and document customer specifications, sales agreements, test data and other project related information prior to the "kick-off" meeting with the project team. - Attend "kick-off" meeting with the project team to discuss project requirements highlighting critical design features, high risk areas, and/or areas of concern. Generate list of questions and/or missing information required to complete the design and manufacturing of the equipment. - Attend "progress" meetings, including "kick-off" meeting, with manufacturing personnel prior to the start of assembly and "post job review" meeting with the project team after commissioning of the equipment. - Responsible for information flow on projects, not necessarily performing all related tasks but delegating those tasks and ensuring completion of tasks. - Manage the gathering of missing information from customer, vendors, etc., and document responses. - Provide all aspects of the equipment design including necessary calculations, advance orders of long lead components, customer approval drawings, shop detail drawings for manufacturing using sound practical engineering principles and safety standards, while meeting project deadlines, estimated engineering hours and estimated equipment cost constraints. Review of complex tasks may be provided by upper level engineers. - Provide direction to and assist in training of lower level engineering hires. Assign design tasks and oversee lower level engineers. - Develop working relationships with manufacturing department to address and resolve issues to produce the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost. - Act as technical resource for Sales, Applications, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Field Service assisting in addressing and resolving questions and problems.</p> <p>Skills</p> <p>New product development, Mechanical engineering, solidworks, large assembly, Weldments, Product engineering, Project engineering, Project management, Design, Mechanical</p> <p>Top Skills Details</p> <p>New product development,Mechanical engineering,solidworks,large assembly,Weldments,Product engineering,Project engineering</p> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <p>Skills: • Strong 3D modeling skills - Solidworks is a must (very preferred) NOTE: if a strong candidate from ITS that does not have a "non-compete" and has only used Inventor, we would be open to hiring and training on Solidworks. • Microsoft Office - Excel a must • Project engineering experience with emphasis on custom designs; not a product development position • Experience 3D modeling of large assemblies • Designs are heavy in sheet metal fabrications and structural steel weldments, integrating various purchased components • Strong problem solving skills • Ability to handle multiple projects • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities • Desire & ability to collaborate on designs & problem solving Education • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is preferred • Open to other or no degree with considerable experience and skills that directly applies to our industry Experience • 5-10 years' experience in a mechanical engineering position desired • Will consider candidates with substantially more experience as well</p> <p>Experience Level</p> <p>Intermediate Level</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Ixonia, WI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.</p> <p>Thank you for your interest working with Actalent to advance your career.
