Perform body repair and corrosion control, refinishes and repaints surfaces as required. Prepare, maintain and submit applicable maintenance work orders for man-hour and data collection accounting, to include completing forms to reflect work performed or delayed and parts and maintenance required. Participate as OJT Instructor in the vehicle maintenance area. Assist in conducting the local occupational safety and health training program, to include compliance with directives and procedures for proper disposal of hazardous waste products within the functional area. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position. </li><li>This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement. </li><li>Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. </li><li>Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. </li><li>Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. </li><li>Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. </li><li>Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. </li><li>May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. </li><li>Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. </li><li>For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. </li><li>This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. Medical tests are used to determine fitness and eligibility for employment. </li><li>Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Military Grades: E-4 through E-7</p> <p>Compatible Military Assignments: 2T3XX</p> <p>GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to make repairs or the ability to assist with repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts.</p> <p>SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months specialized experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment; ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment; knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of mechanical systems; knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls.
