Primary duties will include, but not be limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Analyzing information related to DBE firms or applicants to determine if DBE eligibility standards are fully met. Information may include Corporate documents, financial records, tax returns, financial statements, etc. </li><li>Performing on-site visits to the offices of DBE applicant or DBE certified firms and on-site visit to job sites as appropriate; </li><li>Interviewing principal officers and key employees of the applicant firms; </li><li>Documenting eligibility determination decisions and reasons therefore, and drafting correspondence to firms to communicate these determinations; </li><li>Responding to inquiries related to DBE certifications and requirements; and </li><li>Evaluating and drafting responses to, complaints regarding DBE certification eligibility. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitive: Six years of experience in:</p> <ul> <li>the review, investigation, and/or evaluation of compliance with equal employment opportunity laws, rules and regulations; </li><li>the planning, development, implementation, and review of programs dealing with equal employment opportunity, human rights, affirmative action, minority business program coordination, and/or labor relations directly relating to affirmative action; or in </li><li>the development and administration of programs designed to facilitate minority community access to employment or business opportunities in the public and private sector. </li></ul> <p>A bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience.
