<p>Passaic County Community College is looking for a Basic Needs Resource Specialist. The Basic Needs Resource Specialist will assist with technical, programmatic, and day to day operations of the Center.</p> <p>Duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Manage and supervise peer leader program, recruit prospective new students for program </li><li>Coordinate and conduct student assistant and peer leadership training. Provide structure for peer leadership projects and tasks </li><li>Help develop and execute Wellness' programming schedule through the semester, including designing programs and workshops and gathering student feedback </li><li>Marketing events, trainings, and connections to outside agencies/partners </li><li>Maintain the Center's social media platforms </li><li>Assist with functions of Food Pantry as needed </li><li>Help execute deliverables of Basic Needs Grant </li><li>Arrange for community partner workshops and trainings </li><li>Coordinate and facilitate events that address the 8 dimensions of wellness </li><li>Connect student with resources, manage intake and new students in the Wellness Center </li><li>Assist with student walk-ins, be able to adapt to quickly changing schedule </li><li>Develop fact sheets, brochures and flyers around wellness </li><li>Co-facilitate staff training and professional development for staff and adjuncts </li><li>Assist wellness team with purchasing requisitions , monitor Grant budget and spending </li></ul> <p>Required Skills, Experience, and Background:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field required, bachelor's degree preferred. </li><li>2-4 years of demonstrated work experience in addressing food insecurity, homelessness, and emotional/social/physical health needs with underserved individuals. </li><li>Strong connections with Passaic County local community partners. </li><li>Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.</p> <p>Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $21.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>New Jersey Sick Leave: Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.) </li><li>Employee Assistance Program provides free, confidential, limited counseling services, work-life assistance, legal and financial guidance. </li><li>Commuter Benefits: Free parking access is provided on site.
