<p>Description</p> <p>Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America. Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, seven technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 45,000 machines throughout North America.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Co-op to join our dynamic Engineering team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and support of electrical systems for advanced machine tools and automation solutions. The co-op will work closely with our experienced engineers on a variety of projects, contributing to both the design and practical aspects of our offerings.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the creation and modification of electrical drawings and schematics. </li><li>Provide support in the design and development of electrical interfaces for machine tool options and accessories. </li><li>Participate in the assembly and testing of electrical components and systems. </li><li>Contribute to the troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues on machine tools and automation equipment. </li><li>Support the engineering team with various tasks related to project execution and documentation. </li><li>Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles. </li><li>Familiarity with CAD software for electrical design is a plus. </li><li>Hands-on aptitude and a willingness to work with electrical hardware. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. </li><li>Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. </li><li>A proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn. </li></ul> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>none </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. </li><li>Must be able to travel to various job sites and traverse locations to obtain necessary data. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>This job description is designed to provide an overview of basic skills, experiences and education required to perform the job and is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.
