Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$90,000.00 - $165,750.00</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Organizational Change Management Specialist role is part of the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI). OCI facilitates and drives YSM's Finance & Administration vision of creating a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement. OCI partners with business areas to strengthen and standardize prioritized financial and operational processes with the goal of implementing sustainable changes that result in efficient and robust processes delivering high quality services.</p> <p>The Organizational Change Management Specialist provides change management expertise to formulate a strategy to prepare YSM and its community for transformational change and future ways of working. The individual will apply change methodology to effectively lead change management activities across people, process, and technology while considering the nuances of a university and clinical setting. The change management strategy will define communications, training, and department readiness activities for initiatives at YSM. This individual will also be responsible for executing aspects of the defined change strategy by conducting stakeholder identification, change impact assessments, and by developing detailed communications, training and department readiness plans for various initiatives.</p> <p>The Organizational Change Management Specialist works collaboratively across all levels of the organization to define and execute change strategies inclusive of identification of key personas and stakeholder groups, change impact assessments, delivery of detailed communication and engagement plans, training and overall support of department readiness for cross functional initiatives. Specific responsibilities include:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Develop a Yale School of Medicine Finance & Administration (YSM F&A) change strategy, with a plan to measure progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Working with YSM F&A leadership, develop and implement a change plan for the YSM F&A individual level (all staff, with an initial focus on managers and identified change champions).</p> </li><li> <p>Identify teams / areas within YSM F&A with a high degree of change occurring/planned. Working with impacted managers, develop and implement a change plan for prioritized YSM F&A teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with project managers to ensure change management is embedded within each improvement project.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide hands-on change management leadership for a strategic and complex project: the IBO (Integrated Business Operations) Review. The IBO Review project looks to standardize financial and administration processes and work across our IBOs in YSM. This will include changes to the organizational structure, roles & responsibilities, processes, technology, and tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Be an active listener to understand our client and stakeholder needs</p> </li><li> <p>Be a team player that contributes leading practice to promote continuous improvement of change capability.</p> </li><li> <p>Have familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and project lifecycles.</p> </li></ol> <p>This is a one-year fixed duration position with the possibility of extension.</p> <p>The Office of Continuous Improvement values the synergy and collaboration that comes with working together in person. However, we also appreciate the benefits of remote work, and are happy to consider both hybrid and remote schedules as they align with operational needs.</p> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrated experience utilizing change management principles, methodologies, and tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).</p> </li><li> <p>Basic project management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with stakeholder management.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilities, campus planning & development change experience.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrated experience and capabilities with transformational change consisting of people, process, and technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop relationships across all levels of an organization.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Licenses or Certifications: Prosci or other change management methodology</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <p>Drawing upon direct experience in all of the following capabilities: business analysis, website maintenance, writing, training delivery and training logistics: 1. Understands and applies the principles, types and stages of change and develops approaches to suit the situation 2. Considers the organization's strategy, structure, process and culture when diagnosing change including organizational, individual, cultural, and political forces 3. Identifies and analyzes project impacts including performing stakeholder and impact analyses. 4. Develops detailed plans for communications, training, user preparations, application readiness and ongoing support on complex projects. 5. Assesses stakeholders' readiness for the change and builds the communication plan and messages accordingly and conducts regular reviews 6. Develop and deliver communications for complex projects. 7. Create training plans and assist as required with the creation of training documentation and delivery. 8. Support department and end user readiness planning and execution by leading readiness planning. 9. Provide readiness checklists, on-site help teams after go live, help desk coordination, and user readiness, adoption and satisfaction surveys. 10. Adopts appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to gain acceptance of ideas or plans. Modifies own behavior to accommodate tasks, situations and individuals involved 11. Performs other change management tasks as required. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and at least five years of diverse university, business and change management experience involving technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>Background Check Requirements</p> <p>All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements.
