<p>Description</p> <p>The Opportunity</p> <p>UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, Aurora, CO</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Director of Patient Flow is a key leadership position responsible for optimizing the movement of patients through the healthcare system and ensuring efficient, high-quality care delivery from admission to discharge. This role involves clinical support, collaboration, and strategic planning to reduce bottlenecks, improve throughput, and enhance the overall patient experience. The Director manages operational and quality standards across assigned departments, assumes administrative duties as needed, and participates in the development and implementation of software programs and technologies that provide real-time data on access and flow. By identifying opportunities to optimize bed availability, developing methodologies for staffing and productivity, and leading performance improvement initiatives, the Director works closely with teams to facilitate effective patient flow and leverage organizational resources to achieve measurable improvements in patient access and care.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>The Director of Patient Flow plays a key role in the health system's strategic and operational efforts by:</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement system-wide strategies to improve patient flow, optimize hospital capacity, and enhance patient access. </li><li>Oversee the day-to-day operations of patient flow, including the Transfer Center, Internal Center, and other relevant departments. </li><li>Monitor, analyze, and report on patient flow metrics, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements. </li><li>Work closely with various departments (Nursing, IT, Administration, etc.) to ensure efficient patient movement and address bottlenecks. </li><li>Supervise, mentor, and develop managers and teams responsible for patient flow operations. </li><li>Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards related to patient flow and throughput. </li><li>Partner with IT to enhance the functionality and effectiveness of patient flow management systems. </li><li>Demonstrate proven ability to lead and manage teams, develop strategies, and drive performance improvement. </li><li>Possess strong understanding of healthcare operations, patient care processes, and clinical workflows. </li><li>Analyze data, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions. </li><li>Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. </li><li>Identify and resolve complex issues related to patient flow and throughput. </li></ul> <p>Candidate Qualifications</p> <p>The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing or Administration preferred (or signed agreement to complete Master's within an agreed-upon timeframe) </li><li>Current State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of progressive administrative experience, including oversight of multiple units </li><li>Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, patient care processes, and clinical workflows </li><li>Experience in data analysis, identifying trends, and implementing data-driven solutions </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams </li><li>Proven aptitude for addressing and resolving complex issues related to patient flow and throughput </li></ul> <p>Pay: $69.65 - $111.44 / hour.
